Locum GP

Locum General Practitioner – ACCHO, South Burnett Region, QLD

An Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service delivering bulk billing GP and multidisciplinary care across the South Burnett region is seeking locum GPs to cover roster gaps through to the end of 2026.

Locations: Cherbourg and Wondai clinics (on site only, telehealth not currently offered). Kingaroy clinic is closed until further notice, so no placements there at this stage.

Hours and rate:

• Monday to Thursday, 8am–5pm: $1,600 per day
• Friday, 8am–3pm: $200 per hour

Current vacancies:

Cherbourg (two GP slots per week)

• One slot open: 12–16 October, 19–23 October, 26–30 October, 9–13 November, 30 November–4 December, 7–11 December, 14–18 December
• Both slots open: 2–6 November, 16–20 November, 21–25 December, 28 December–1 January

Wondai (one GP slot per week)

• Open continuously every week from now through to 1 January 2027

About the role:

You'll be providing general practice care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and the broader community, working alongside allied health and social and emotional wellbeing teams as part of a holistic, community controlled model of care.

What they're looking for:

• Previous experience working in an AMS or ACCHO setting is preferred
• Interest in long term locum arrangements or returning on a continual basis ideal
• Current AHPRA registration and Medicare provider number

Ideal candidate:

GPs looking for meaningful, community focused work in regional Queensland, with strong day rates and the opportunity to build an ongoing relationship with the service. Locums able to commit to a run of consecutive weeks, particularly across November and December, will be especially well placed.
