Job Title: Remote Area Nurse (N4/N5) – NT Contract Roles, Multiple Communities

Location: Barkly Region & Central Australia, Northern Territory (Ali Curung, Elliott, Canteen Creek, Epenarra, Lake Nash)

Contract Type: Short-term contract, various durations (predominantly 8-week blocks)

Remuneration: Rates of up to $115/hour, with overtime and on-call pay provided

About the Role

Unite Healthcare is recruiting experienced Remote Area Nurses (RANs) for a series of contract placements across remote NT Aboriginal communities in the Barkly and Central Australia region. Multiple vacancies are available with flexible start dates, suiting nurses seeking single blocks or back-to-back remote contracts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary health care nursing services within a remote Aboriginal community clinic setting
• Deliver care across the full scope of remote practice, including emergency presentations, chronic disease management, maternal and child health, and after-hours on-call
• Work collaboratively with Aboriginal Health Practitioners, visiting specialists, and community members
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with service protocols

Essential Requirements

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Demonstrated experience in remote or isolated practice
• CIMC (Certificate in Remote/Isolated Practice) or equivalent, or willingness to obtain
• Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check (Ochre Card)
• Immunisation status compliant with NT remote health requirements
• Valid driver's licence

Desirable

• Previous experience working in NT/Central Australia or with Aboriginal community-controlled health services
• Advanced life support certification
• Experience with primary health care information systems (e.g. Communicare)
